    Canon chiped ink

Hi as you can see I'm new here, I know there has been a discission on this here somewhere; any way
I'm about to receive a Canon Pixma MP510, I dont feel like paying Canon price for renewing the cartridges and am confused. Looking at adverts it states 'take the chip off the old cartridge and stick it on the new and all is fine' how come 'all is fine'? I was under the impression that the chip was fed data
and when the cartridge was empty the chip was u/s? If that is the case (the advert) one could just as well fill the empty cartridge or am II'm confused and another thing I would like to know; I have a Canon ip2000 it said 'spcial fine canon ink must be used' well i have used it for 5 years on ordinary compatable ink. Does the same apply to the 510. thanks for reading this far

    Re: Canon chiped ink

You might want to take a look at ink.co.uk

They have canon cartridges for the MP510 'with chip' for about £3 each.
