    In my first post
    http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=770337

Not sure what settings you will be able to run.

But my laptop with an even lesser mobile graphics card can run CS:S at 1280 x 800 with anti aliasing and high settings with around 30fps minimum It can run 1680 x 1050 with medium - high and no AA

Re: Complete noob needs help with Graphics Card

You just need to open up the case then looks for the main board. Should be obvious, it's the one everything plugs into.

Then towards the back then will be looks of silver blanking plates which each (or there abouts) have a slot 3 or 4 inches long leading up to them.

One will be longer and set back a little further than the others.

Where this one says "AGP" yours will be a PCIe slot

Then you match the card up to the slot, take off the blanking plate at the back. Push the card in carfeully but firmly until it's level and it's own bracket lines up where the blanking bracket was. Screw it in.

Now since you have intergrated gfx you may need to turn that off in the bios. But I would test the water first.

So unplug you current monitor cable and stick it into the new card and turn on.

The drivers for the card will be in the box, install in windows. Done.

I've been told that I need to disable the integrated graphics. Is this true/ If so how would I do it?

Re: Complete noob needs help with Graphics Card

Plugged in at the back of the PC, somewhere near where the keyboard and mouse are plugged in I'd imagine.

Turning off integrated means entering the bios, usually by pressing delete when prompted when starting the pc up but HP.. Dells etc.. can be different.

You then need to navigate the bios (they are all a bit different) to find where the graphics settings are. Some will do it automitically though.

So would it mess up if I put in the card without doing this?

Won't do any damage, it just might not send a signal to it.

Sounds like you've not got a low profile card and you're trying to put it into a low profile pc.

Does the metal bit look more like the one on the top-left or lower-centre of this picture:
