    Vista strange on startup?!

I built a new PC, and installed windows vista on Friday.

All Friday the system worked perfectly & most of saturday. However since last night I have been getting the following dos popup when I get into windows:

    c:\Windows\inf\UpdateUSB.exe

    Updating USB drivers, please wait.............

It is quite annoying as it takes a while to clear, and you pretty much cant do anything until it clears..

I have only two usb devices plugged into the PC:

    1. Desktop wireless keyboard & mouse set (I have installed the latest drivers from microsoft for vista 64)

    2. External WD HDD (I dont think there is drivers for external hardrives?)

Please, any advice is much welcome!

    Re: Vista strange on startup?!

IF I remember right this is an asus driver updater.

To stop it running at startup; open your start menu and type "msconfig" into the search bar at the bottom, it will automatically open it for you.

Now click the startup tab, find it in the list and uncheck it. There should be no ill effects from this as it's just an updater, if there are, just repeat the process and re-check the box.
