My newly aquired akasa card reader from scan works fine, looks alright but when i shutdown the pc the blue LED stays on ? ive had a scan through my bios and found nothing i can see tha relates too it, any idas ?

Often desktop PCs keep their USB ports powered after the PC shuts down - nothing to worry about.
(The PC isn't actually fully powered off, the PSU is in a low-power mode - this is normal).
It also means you can still charge devices and it can respond to power on requests for the keyboard if set up in the bios to do that.
So just gotta live with the LED on ? keyboard LED's dont stay on though..neither does the mouse

try to connect this card reader to different USB port. as far as i remember once gigabyte introduced so-called "green" usb port which was not powered under soft power off. but i don't know how to tell which one it is. so you need to try on every usb port (internal / also external if possible). luck m8 !
I have an Akasa AK-ICR-05 with the exact same issue - it reminds me to turn the power off at the wall
The reader I had before (Akasa again) did the same thing too, only the LEDs on that were red and hidden behind the case door.
