VHS to DVD
I'm looking at converting all my vhs videos that I have onto DVD's. I have a laptop with an s-video socket and was wondering if there is any way to do it through this input. I was looking at SCART to S-Video cables but I'm pretty sure it can't be that simple!
Also what software might I need to do this?
:help:

Re: VHS to DVD
probably not helpful, but i copied all my baby videos from vhs to dvd, but i had like a dvd and vhs player unit all in one, and the software on the unit did it for me.
maybe you could somehow copy the vhs on the pc onto like an mpeg format, then that can be made into a dvd quite easily.

Re: VHS to DVD
I doubt the laptop S-Video port works as an input, you probably need a S-Video capture device, USB ones are most prevalent.
Scan sells loads of em, even some advertised to convert VHS to DVD! Retail capture devices usually include software to get you going.

Will that allow me to connect my SCART only VHS player to that USB device and transer the videos onto my computer? Can I enhance/edit the picture quality on there as well?

Re: VHS to DVD
yeh should do the trick... all you need is a scart converter to either composite or svideo...
