I would look for something second hand at that price... or something from FSP or Xclio - both make cheap & solid PSUs
I would seriously consider saving up and getting a better one though - you spend £100s on the other components, so why risk it by being cheap over an extra £20?

I honestly thought this thread was a wind up when I got to this point.
EZ-Cool are known to be one of the poorest PSUs about ;)

Quite simply, increase your budget. If you have spent the money on a Q6600, spend the money on making sure its powered properly.
Having said that, Scan often have deals on their FSP range of PSU's. They are very stable and very reliable. Keep checking their "Today Only" page :)

You coulda had the 700W FSP one for £25 (I think?) on Scans Today only a few days ago. It comes on regularly so you'll just have to check and see if it's there or request it to be put up.
Like others have said why risk losing your components over £20 more. If you don't really think that the extra money and quality of the PSU makes a difference keep on running that EZ-Cool and you'll probably find out soon enough :)
Lucky first time that the PSU didn't take out any parts but the more PSU failures you get the more likely it will take something each time :D

And why do you think that is? Or to turn it round, why do you think the EZCool is so cheap? Because it is built down to a price.
How much would it cost to replace the mobo, CPU and GPU if a cheap and nasty PSU took them out?
Do yourself a favour and get a better PSU - look on it as insurance. Corsair are good, they have a 5yr warranty, and their customer support is good if you do have a problem.
Yiou aren't going to get anything good for £30 in the power range you are looking at. Someone suggested the Corsair VX450 - about £45 - and that is about the best value for money you will get. Seasonic, Corsair, FSP and Enermax are all pretty good makes.

seen it for 35 other day but still is good price for 700watt solid psu :)

Let me get this straight? You were using an EZ-Cool and magically dodged one bullet, then you went and bought another ONE!?
Good luck, seriously, good luck.

Nah he was using a cheap PSU and it bust on him (didn't mention how long he's had it) and now he's decided to protect his investment with EZ-Cool!
He hasn't mentioned if the other parts are working yet. Maybe he's only tested the PSU and the other parts could still be dead too.

Notice the trend? Quite alot of psu blowups there. I've only had 1 and that was on a IBM PC with Win95 hard switch PC. I found out at the "You can turn your PC off now" screen that you could switch it off and on quickly that it would still stay on
The foot long PSU didn't like it and boom it went! Boy did they go bang back in the days.
Anyway you should be praying that this EZ-Cool doesn't go boom either as you might not be as fortunate this time. Most likely the overclock on the cpu and the graphics card current pull was too much for it. Leave your CPU at stock while your on the EZ-Cool to decrease your chances of it blowing up.
Re: HELP-I THINK I FRIED MY Q6600 (Go steping)
why oh why?
You are the type of guy who would buy two of these..

You had another one blow up? Or is that the one that you just blew up and started this thread on.

In pure honesty you are not going to get a good solid PSU for £30. :surprised:
Think of your other system components. They are pretty decent and you want the best constant power form them too right. Continuing to use low grade PSU's could make problems like this happen more regularly. Next time it could take your ram , motherboard , CPU with it ,, even all.
I recommend better but the best one i found on a budget was this one here : http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=462689
Again not my best choice , but brand named and solid performance.
