but your risking everything else in the case.. to save £10 or so....

if it goes and your not lucky next time, then you could lose all the data on your HDD (precious photos and things) all your hardware, trip out the circuit in the house, cause a fire (possibly), require you to buy all new kit... or the whole shabang.. and with the cheap PSU you are losing money in the mean time as it has lower efficiency...

so the £10 that you have saved now could turn into £400+ in the future........

    Shop name says it all.
The Coolermaster is the best on that list £5 more and you can get the Corsair from scan though.

Re: HELP-I THINK I FRIED MY Q6600 (Go steping)

You have been given solid advice from the above (taktak, moogle, etc) and it would be really unwise not to accept to. Once you buy a good quality psu, you are pretty much done, it will be the only component you wont need to upgrade for years. The hassle you will get when that joke of a psu blows up, is not worth the £30 you saved.

If you bought the psu in the last couple of days then go back and say you want to buy another more expensive one, most shops would accept that (as long as the psu is unused). Also look around on the classified section of this forum or on ebay, you can find some good bargains there.

Well if you got such good bargains I'm sure you'd be devastated to see it go down the drain over the savings of £20-30. If you really are strapped for cash then after all that expensive stuff has gone you probably won't be able to buy one of similiar power and you'll have to revert to a way way slower one.

PSU's aren't something to skimp on when you build the PC. Other parts you can skimp on as much as you wan't usually things like motherboards, cpus, graphics cards and hard drives won't damage other components. But the PSU can damage all of them so easily.

    corsair anyday...

there was a case on this forum a few weeks back where a guys computer was taken out by a dodgy cable (that had been made specially for the person) accidentaly sent to them by corsair (was for the HX1000W), and corsair just replaced everything even tho they had no legalobligation to..

if your ezcool took everything out then that is it...

corsair = alot more support in the unlikely event that the corsair unit fails..

also.. you are eligible for free shipping from scan... just to let you know...

just look at the 'new build' threads to see what gets reccomended.. 7 times out of 10 it is a corsair or enermax..

5 year warranty and the after sales support. it's a good solid psu. the coolermaster isn't bad either but the corsair is generally better.
The corsair one is modular too meaning you don't need to have all the cables you don't need in your case.
