BSOD and System freezing while installing X-Fi

Hi i am getting BSOD or system freezing while installing the creative X-fi platinum drivers.

I tried drivers from creative website and the cd but no use.

Also tried with onboard sound disabled and only two sticks of ram(2gb) instead of 4gb.

Anyone has a quick solution.Pls share.thx in advance.

    Card model no- SB0460

Have you tried moving the soundcard to another free PCI slot ?

I had a similar issue with my X-Fi not being detected or functioning unless I swap the Nova-T 500 MCE card over with the X-Fi and moved the TV Tuner card down a slot.
