max min ddr speed compatiblity memory question

    got a problem over here
    http://forums.hexus.net/help-technic...dows-load.html

but i have my old machine and i want to try the ram to double check the new drr800 is ok, except the board is rated as ddr400 max ( its an Abit ic7 max3) can anyone advise as to if i will damage the ram or motherbord by doing this? The voltages are also different ( ddr400 is rateed at 2.6 and the ddr 800 is rated and 1.9!) so i have not idea if the abit will be able to reduce is memory voltages enough to take the ddr 800. appreciated.

It looks like that old motherboard only uses DDR memory so your DDR2 wont fit i am afraid.
