    Spam

Ive been getting a few spam emails in my hotmail account from admin (at) viagra (dot) com. This is not really a problem, I just delete them straight away. But today I got a delivery failure notification from postmaster (at) hotmail (dot) com, saying I sent an email related to admin (at) viagra (which I didnt). Has my hotmail account or the postmaster address been spoofed? Or are the spammers putting my address in the 'from' field so i receive bouncebacks? I have only received 1 delivery failure, so I guess my account isnt compromised (??) or Id be getting thousands.

Also, the (random) address I supposedly emailed is very similar to my own, and the timestamps show that I sent this email in the same minute as I received one with the same topic title.

Are they just trying to trick me into opening attachments, or is my email account being abused?

    Thanks

Same thing happened to me. I just put them in the junk folder and deleted them.

    Yeah, something like that.

I was recieving hundreds of those email every day at one point. eventually died out when they moved onto using someone elses address.

    Re: Spam

hotmail is a favourite for spoofing - you have probably just been unlucky - but it is impossible to say if you will get more or not - presumably all the other spammed adresses that purported to come from you were all delivered successfully - it was the one that wasn't that triggered the bounce back.
