Abit IP35 Pro + e5200 problem!
Hi guys need sum help jst put a new rig together. e5200 in an ip35 pro.
everything is setup nicely but im getting a wild cpu temp of 240oC. The cooler is on right xig 120mm with screw mounts. its obviously a faulty reading. however its seriously affecting the operation of the pc. i have had to turn off fanEQ control for the cpu so the cpu fan doesnt just stop working because of the silly temp reading!!! Can anyone help me here?

I would guess that you either need a BIOS update for your motherboard or you have a duff sensor (on the motherboard or in the CPU)
My money would be on a BIOS update, there are a few issues kicking around with temperature readings on the 45nm CPUs.

From what I remember, Abit BIOS's are a nightmare to update too.
Switching the fan contol function off shouldn't really affect the operation of the PC though.

Abit have one of the better BIOS update tools available and have done for years.

Ok this problem is fixed. It seems BIOS 17 is required for CPU temperature reading. All good.
