Hard drive
My computer has problems with random semi lockups, where the pc is responsive, but the windows freese and become non-responding, and the windows wont load and webpages are stuck loading. I have done memtest etc and ive done every test, i now am pretty sure its the hard drives being corrupted, so i am purchasing a new one. I have my eye set on a scan samsung F1 1TB, does anyone else wanna try and suggest anything i may have done wrong? I am very technically minded and know my stuff and everything, but that could make me complacant, so help me out guys :)

Re: Hard drive
Can you access the smart data on the existing drive? Samsung discs are fine.

Re: Hard drive
I am using the hard drives currently, they are both dodgy though, and the pc keeps trying to disc check them, but they are too corrupted to actually complete disk check.

Re: Hard drive
HDD inherently knackered, or power supply buggered? You decide...
Buy a cheap multimeter and measure the voltages on your power supply.

Re: Hard drive
If it is the hard disk at fault it might be worth trying Spinrite to see if it can clear up the errors on your hard disk.

Re: Hard drive
I have my new hard drive installed, no errors on it, and with a new set of ram too its perfect, i am so glad i got my 2x2GB sticks same time as hard drive to give system a new lease of life.
