Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
Could i have a faulty hard-drive because i have problems when i transfer my dv video to my pc,I get alot of dropped frames and i mean alot and the only way i can stop having dropped frames is to turn off write caching on the disk
Or is there something that could cause this to happen??
Re: Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
faulty FW cable? or USB cable?
does it do it regardless of tape you're transferring?
have you tried it on another PC?
Re: Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
maybe the software you are using?
Re: Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
Its firewire and yes it works ok on another pc,Its not faulty cables and its ok when i transfer from pc to camera,All i can think it could be is a faulty HD,But ive ran test's and there is no bad sectors.
All my other hardware is running fine,Its a strange one...
I dont think its a software problem.
Re: Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
Check out your memory. Memtest 86+ . It is unlikely to be the harddrive - but more likely a bottleneck somewhere on that system.
Re: Capturing from dv camera-computer problem
Nope not a memory problem ive ran Memtest 86+&Prime95 at the same time for hours no problems. This is a strange one it could be a hardware conflict?
I say it could be a HD problem because ive allways had problems playing games like Doom3/Quake 4,What happens in those games is jerking/wobble when slowly moving the mouse up-down-left-right,It happens at certain points of the games
