Creating a HTML signature in Outlook
I need to include a graphic (company logo) within a signature for all emails I send. I have tried to create a signature but the logo doesn't send with the email. I assume I need to create a HTML file. Do I link to a file on the internet or attach the file to the signature somehow?
I'm not HTML literate so need advice on a basic level please!
Re: Creating a HTML signature in Outlook
You should be able to just insert objects directly into the Signature editor, without any need to explicitly code in HTML.
As you state, you have two options:
(1) Embed the logo (as a graphic) into the signature, so that every sent email includes a copy of the graphic
(2) Include a link to the graphic. However, this must be an Internet accessible URL and should not be a reference to the file on your local system (e.g. file://c://pictures/etc)
Option (1) will slightly increase the size of emails (depending on the size of the graphic) but will always display
With option (2) the graphic will probably get blocked by default (until the recipient elects to trust the Internet domain hosting your graphic) and can't be viewed when the recipient is offline.
I would say that option (1), directly embedding the graphic is better (from a marketing point of view, as opposed to a recipients point of view!).
