Unhappy The Annoying Disappearing Game Window

    Hello there,

I thought I'd bring this problem to the educated masses at HEXUS as there seem to be a very many people in the know, and I thought perhaps at least one of those bright folk would have perhaps encountered this self-same problem I'm having.

Basically, every game I play freezes and then exits. I can be playing a game for anywhere between 2 minutes and 2 hours, and the screen will suddenly freeze, the last second of audio will loop, and then the window will close taking me back to the desktop. I'm not given an error message or any kind of warning at any point.

Does anyone have any clues? I've got the latest ATI drivers installed, and have re-installed them numerous times. I've checked to make sure every aspect of my system is up to date. I've run DXDIAG and no problems there. I'm losing my mind on this, as I just wanna be able to play my games without sitting in fear of the next crash.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Lou.

can you post all your hardware specs up including your CPU load and GPU load temps?

Also can you post up what RAM you use and what voltage it is set to?

    use speedfan for temps

you can info about your RAM here

Okay, here's what SpeedFan had to say:

    CPU-Z Readings...

    CPU tab:

    Mainboard tab:

    Memory tab:

Everything else I know about my PC I've put in my system specs bit which is under my username.

What graphics card have you got? And which games are crashing? Are there no entries in your event logs?

The graphics card is a Sapphire 512MB X1800 XT PE PCI-E card. And every game crashes, pretty much. Anything I play, old or now. Newer games don't last as long, mind you.

One thing worth mentioning is that just recently, in the past 24 hours, I've been receiving VPU Recover error messages.
