    Help! Hard drive wipe problem

Hey guys this is my first post and it's a plea for help.

    Here's the sequence of events:

    1. Built new rig, installed vista ultimate.
    2. Fried motherboard.

    3. Replaced motherboard, decided I better reinstall vista.
    4. Started running DBAN but couldn't be bothered to wait the 300+ hours for it to finish.
    5. Powered down early during DBAN (like an hour in).
    6. Desperate to reinstall Vista and get going but don't want to leave old OS on hard drive.

    What's my next move?

Here are my system specs if it helps:

    E6750@2.66ghz
    ATi HD4850 512mb
    500GB Maxtor Diamondmax HD
    Hyper 580W PSU
    Gigabyte GA-P350DS3L mobo
2x1gb RAM (667) waiting on RMA on corsair modules
    Plenty of non-stock air cooling

You're using DBAN to remove the OS?
There is no need to do that - as soon as the Vista setup starts, simply choose the option to format the HD (quick option will do) and you're done.

The only reason you need to use something like DBAN is to get rid of sensitive data when passing the drive along, or before destroying it.
