Problem Loading Portal

Hi All

I've installed Portal on my Samsung NC10 Netbook via steam but when it loads I get the error "The instruction at <memory address> referenced memory at <memory address> the memory could not be written" Does anyone know if there's something I could try to fix this or should I just give up. I just wanted to see if portal would run more than anything if not then I'm not too fussed.

Have you got the latest video card drivers for your laptop?

Updated the drivers but the problem is still there. Does anyone else have any ideas? I realise it's probably the intel chipset that's the problem but it would be nice if there's a work around.

Sorry, don't have any specifics regarding your Samsung NC10 & Portal, but as workaround have you tried "Portal: The Flash Version" via your netbook. It includes almost every feature the real game does (in 2D) and should play fine on your netbook - not a perfect workaround, but hopefully an option while you wait for a fix ???

Have you tried running memtest? Just to exclude your ram..
