    Help me find my USB2

    Device managers telling me I have 2 enhanced USB2 & 6 USB1's controllers.
Now can anybody tell me how to find out which are the two USB2's connections on the outside of the case?

I'm trying to use a device for transferring video & it says it must connect to USB2 only.

Much appreciated if you could help!

Check your motherboard manual (RTFM lol!). If you don't have one, download it from the makers website.

Re: Help me find my USB2

Is there no physical way of finding out?

I have tried transferring a 500mb file from a thumb drive, but all the usb's took around the same time?

Is there some setting in the BIOS I need to change?

    OK, motherboard USB's are marked : USB1, USB2, USB3 & USB4.

It also says "the headers conform to USB 2.0/1.1"
(now if that means all USB's are 2.0. then why is Device manager only showing 2 enhanced USB instead of 4?)

I have the same on mine.

Just make sure in BIOS the speed is set to "hi-speed" and not "full speed"

    hi-speed is USB2.0

No hi-speed options in BIOS, just USB 2 "Enabled or Disabled"

But thanks for all your help anyhow

Re: Help me find my USB2

If you plug in a USB 2.0 device into a 1.1 port, then IIRC (Well in XP anyway) you should get a balloon message in the system tray stating "This device can perform faster etc..." - That would be something you could try. Systematically plug in a USB 2.0 device into each one and see what message occurs?
