    Intel Pentium D 840 3.2ghz is stuck at 2.8ghz

    Hi there

    Im having a propblem with my cpu, its running at 2.8ghz but should be at 3.2ghz and ive turned the EIST and thermal control off but its not going back to the oringinal speed.
    If anyone can help with the problem it will be much appreiated.

    Im using an Abit Falat1ty FP-IN9 SLi

    Is the clock set to auto or manual in the BIOS? I'm guessing you're using PC2-6400 RAM and have set the divider to 1:1 without overclocking the RAM.

    The clock is set to auto and i am using pc2-6400 ram.
    It used to work for me when i turned EIST ect off but nothing now.
    Havent changed no setting that is what is puzzling me.
