    Help with a virus removal

My niece has managed to get the Antivirus XP Pro 2009 malware on her laptop. It appears to a be a particularly awkward/ clever bit of malware and it won't allow me to install Adaware or AVG in order to get rid of it. Does anyone have any advice on how to get it off?

    TIA

Malwarebytes run in safe mode normally does the trick.

Re: Help with a virus removal

Malwarebytes did the trick so thanks folks. That was a particularly nasty and annoying virus!

Pepsi, I should have said that I'd already checked Google and found the website you link to. Unfortunately it didn't work for me hence my request for help.
