Video card and picture questions.
Hi, built my new pc, running ok but a few questions.
The card is a superfast EVGA 9800 GTX with bios upgrade to run well above stock.
When I put on my 40" Sony HD LCD, I set the res to 1920 X 1080. The desktop image with my icons on it dissappears past the edgeS and bottom/top, I cannot see the Start box/TASKBAR, or the icons at either edge.
Also, this card has 2 DVI-D points on it, can I put the Sony LCD on one and my 22" Samsung Syncmaster monitor on the other and then is it possible to select either without keeping unplugging and plugging, ie, the monitor when I wish to just use my pc for usual stuff, and the sony when I want to watch a film in HD(via the Bluray burner/writer on its way) I have a HDMI cable from the Sony to the DVI port, can both be plugged in and the one I want to view selected.
Another thing,my mobo is a MSI K9N2 Platinum. It has eSATA, yet when I connect an external sata drive docking station to it with a sata hd in it and turn it on it fails to recognise it, yet if I use the USB, it finds it immediately. I have downloaded the very latset MSI drivers for this board, everything else works fine.
Cheers all.:help:
Re: Video card and picture questions.
Could just be an issue with the LCD, does it have a menu option to resize the image? Should be just a case of changing that.
2: yes, you can select various ways of using both monitors in the graphics driver settings, either duplicate the image on both, stretch the whole screen across both monitors, create one screen with the menu bar on and one without (to stick seperate windows in), and probably some random other ways. You may have problems playing movies with hardware accelaration on a secondary monitor though.
as for the esata stuff, have you checked for any bios options that might have disabled it?
Re: Video card and picture questions.
with regards the TV. have you tired a 'just scan' option on the picture format menu, if its set to 16:9 or auto on my plasma then its screws up the HTPC display in the same way.:)
Re: Video card and picture questions.
No joy, tried all different settings on the tv, not to worry, must be there somehwere.
Cheers, again heartfelt thanks.:)
Re: Video card and picture questions.
on my mac you need to make sure you have the overscan box checked as tv's use more lines than monitors
try looking in the advanced settings
