    Odd one - Q6600 sensors

I think my Q6600 has a faulty (stuck?) sensor on core 3. Whilst the others show the temps correctly, core 3 seems to be stuck at 58. Even when just switched on and the others are at the low 30 mark. I've read about others which consistently report 10-15 degrees higher, but none which report the same temp all the time.

Is this a sign of impending failure, or is it nothing to be too concerned about?

Probably is, download real temp and use the sensor tester in that

    It's 4.98*

I reckon it could just be that its a dodgy sensor, has it recently started doing it or as long as youve measured temps?

Only just noticed it the other day. Was only when I had a dabble at overclocking it I noticed the temps. How accurate is Everest? thats what was running when I noticed the discrepancies.

have to be honest guys....temp reading vary according to the bios calculations and the cpu's own ability to judge the temp too, and then the piece of softwares ability to "decode" the signal sent.

And with that many variables.... it gets bloody hard.

    Does it crash? No...

    crack on then

Nope, deffo stable. Maybe I was reading too much into the situation, thinking my CPU was about to pop its clogs. Many thanks for the input fellas.
