Computer Only Boots Every 2nd Time!!!

Got a little problem that I just cannot fathom...

I have just put together an old pc (PC Chips M848ALA rev 2.1 board with 512mb ram and a Gigabyte GV-R925128T AGP card, and an Enermax 350w power supply) and everything seems to work except I cannot get it to boot except by forcing a shutdown by holding in the power button and then powering up again. Even when loading software and it reboots itself it still refuses to display anything on the screen despite the pc being powered up. The screen light is orange in these circumstances. I dont think it has anything to do with the graphics card as I have tried several with the same results.

    Anyone got any suggestions???

    A very confused 'Big Dave'..

hello, i know it may sound ovbious but go through all your wiring again and make sure all connections are secure. Also it could be a stability issue, have you unchecked all the settings you do not need in bios and set the ram timings to their correct latency, that could help?
