    Filling in IBM CV template

    Hi

This is probably a stupid question and there's probably a simple answer but any way here goes. I'm in the process of filling out the IBM CV template, which they provide as part of their application process. The problem is i'm not sure how to fill it out, and as you'd expect I'd like to get it right

That's what it looks like when it's first opened, to start with the formatting needs to be changed to get name, address, email etc looking correct. My main question is, am I supposed to write in the grey boxes, or in place of them, it looks daft when you write in them, but they provide formatting for what to write such as word limits etc.

Hopefully someone can let me know what to do / how to proceed.

    Many Thanks

He's not wrong; the grey boxes should expand when you type in them if its a word document.

Re: Filling in IBM CV template

I am about to fill in the competency section of the standard cv template that IBM request to complete. However, it appears that the template does not give me much space to complete each competency i think approximately 6 lines.

Re: Filling in IBM CV template

They restrict you on what you can write as you are expected to express yourself in as few words as possible, trying to avoid waffling and a lot of creative nonsense that some people try to put into CVs because their ego's are too large.

It also provides a very fair comparison between people who submit CV's in very different formats, so having everyones information in the same place is extremely useful for the filtering process. Applying to different companies is never easy as they all ask for different information making you tailor your CV, but if you get the job that you want, it's all worth it!

Click in and fill in the greyed boxes, when it is printed (click print preview, and view it yourself) the boxes will disappear.

    Good luck!
