max min ddr speed compatiblity memory question
got a problem over here
http://forums.hexus.net/help-technic...dows-load.html
but i have my old machine and i want to try the ram to double check the new drr800 is ok, except the board is rated as ddr400 max ( its an Abit ic7 max3) can anyone advise as to if i will damage the ram or motherbord by doing this? The voltages are also different ( ddr400 is rateed at 2.6 and the ddr 800 is rated and 1.9!) so i have not idea if the abit will be able to reduce is memory voltages enough to take the ddr 800. :help: appreciated.
Re: max min ddr speed compatiblity memory question
It looks like that old motherboard only uses DDR memory so your DDR2 wont fit i am afraid.
