Hi folks,
I'm having some serious issues getting Windows Vista 64bit to recognise I have a SATA HDD connected to the Intel controller on the Rampage II.
I've tried all sorts of things such as loading the driver via F6 and using the driver disc supplied. Odd thing is it tells me it cannot find any drivers.
I'm really going mad here as I've been working on and off on this in the little free time I have and all I want to do is get it working. The ASUS support line is fairly rubbish to, take you 5 minutes to get to the right answer phone then tells you to sod off to their support.asus.com pages.
Currently the hardware installed is:
Core i7
HIS HD4870
2GB Corsair Dominator (removed the other 2 modules for the moment)
Samsung F1 on SATA1 (Intel controller)
Sony DVDRW (JMicron controller - PATA connection)
With my BIOS at default, the controllers are configured as IDE and my BIOS correctly identifies my HDD and optical drive.
However, I currently have the JMicron & Intel controllers configured as ACHI (in the process of attempting an install - however windows appears to be doing nothing on a black screen, mouse works OK though).
Anyone got any ideas (or a useful Asus number to call?).
Thanks in advance.
