    Will this game work OK?

Hi my friend wants to know if Battlefield 2 will work OK on Vista 64? Just wanted to check as I've heard some people have problems with running older games on Vista.

I cant see why it wouldn't work, I know a few people who play BF2 on Vista.

If your friends installs the game on Vista, he/ she could try running the game in compatibility mode.

    old-ish means DOS4/GW

    old means LOADHIGH=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE RAM=4096

Always worth a look here - doesn't guarantee compatibility but at least you'll know if you have the hardware.

Ah, the joy of writing a multiple configuration autoexec.bat and config.sys to suit half a dozen conflicting games...

    It runs fine.
It has on mine for over 2 years anyway

The Vista 64Bit struggled with Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner though.

and then of course there was the challenge of trying to get them to run in OS/2 - mountains of floppy disks

I did manage to get Wing Commander running on OS/2 which I was pleased about at the time (sad I know)

I run REALLY old games just fine with a bit of tweaking here and there, so it should be fine.

it will work however you will have to edit the games shortcut going into properties and changing whether it is run in xp mode and also as an administrator or you will not be able to play online
