PSU & CoolerMaster HAF932
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had a definite answer for this.
I have a Corsair TX750 and have just bought a CoolerMaster HAF932 (bottom mount PSU with option of top).
What is better for airflow? Mounting the PSU with the fan facing down to the floor, or upside down with the fan facing up into the case? There wouldn't be much clearance if it was mounted with the fan facing the floor which is a concern.
I can't really find a definitive answer on this .. Was just wondering what opinions you could offer.
Re: PSU & CoolerMaster HAF932
looks like it has a fan holes in the bottom too. It wouldn't hurt your PSU that much if not at all. Better airflow for what? The case in general or the PSU? I think face down would allow it to intake cool air from below and exhaust it straight out. That would be better I'd say.
Re: PSU & CoolerMaster HAF932
Not only that fitting the psu in the top you lose the large fan (can't remember its exact size (200mm?) as it wont fit with a psu mounted up there.
Re: PSU & CoolerMaster HAF932
not sure what you mean by clearance but face down is no issue, there is adequate hole space in the metal platform and directly underneath is a fan grill.
Either way, you can't mount the PSU with fan facing upwards, so the issue is rather academic now ;)
And yes CM should have given us the choice... not that I would use it, it means cabling is more messy since the main ATX cable is further from the cable hole
Re: PSU & CoolerMaster HAF932
I meant clearance from the floor. As the case will be sitting directly on the floor, doesn't that mean there's less air to "pull in"?
You can't mount it upside down? I thought I saw some images with people doing that, maybe I was wrong :).
And yes, I didn't want to mount it at the top of the case due to losing the fans! :).
Thanks for the help, I'll give it a go :).

Maybe restrictive, but not that much that it'll overheat or damage your PSU. I think it'd affect it by an insignificant amount because the PSU isn't going to be pulling air like mad.

Thank you, this worked great. It's an amazing case :).
