it could be bad video drivers if you changed them in the past few weeks, it could also be the card overheating due to crap build up in the heatsink.
take the side off the case and check the fans spinning, also look to see if its got fluff on the intakes stopping the airflow

I would tend to agree, gfx card overheating / on its way out. If its overclocked it could be that too. in which case return it to stock speeds.
Overheating is easy to prove, take the side panel off and point a spare case fan at the gfx card and try gaming again.
