Re: 3 blue screens a day - is this too hot for my CPU?

Well another 4 BSODs later with the USB/Firewire card removed and I'm still none the wiser...

3 of the last four were caused by ntoskrnl.exe and Rtenicxp.sys...

Would Vista be a cure? I've heard it clears up a lot of the old XP driver problems?

    Thanks guys

    Oli

Don't know if it will sort it but I made the jump over a year ago to Vista Ultimate x64 and never had a single problem with it

Did you have any problems at all with getting 64-bit drivers? (My MOBO is only 3 months old so I assume it would be ok?)

Not a problem with drivers, I am running a shuttle SX38 P2 Pro and the drivers were easy to get. As for your motherboard, the audio, lan, chipset drivers should be on the manufacturers website

i've also been getting quite a few bsod everyday and it came down to the wifi card so i am thinking it might be your NIC. try uninstalling the drivers from device manager and update it to the latest ones

    UPDATE:

I removed 2GB of the 4GB I had in and it now seems to be completely stable. I've been trying my best to get it to crash - encoding a 6GB video file while playing out to a tape deck while also playing an AVI and no blue screens!!! Fantastic. Thanks to all who helped and advised.
