Hello Everyone,
I was searching the internet looking for a forum that could possibly answer this question. But first i have to tell the story so your not left blind sided on why im asking.
First i am in the US Navy - (this is the second repair on this Xbox) In july 2nd 08 i called Xbox and said hey i need this repaired, they said ok yada yada we are sending you a box with a shipping label so you can send it back to us. August rolls around and no box was sent to me, this was my time to change my duty stations in the navy so my entire house was packed up and i moved, i put a forwarding address to my house back home so i could send it from there. No box ever showed up. This is kind of beside the point but just showing previous request for repairs.
I am now stationed in Maryland, after quite a few schools that are months long, hence the long delay. I called Xbox on the 13th this month and i told them the scenario on what happened and they said ok all you need to do is print this out and send it back to us, agreeing that it could be repaired still under warranty...Well my printer needed more ink, so i go to the store and they didnt have my ink, a few days have gone by and i found the ink that fits my printer... I try and put it in and now my printer is broken and doesn't want to accept the ink its suppose to use...
So i head to a place where i can use a printer. I go to the Xbox site and put in the Service Request Number and my zip code. Nothing was found, there was no Xbox repair label for me. I call Xbox and they said ok for some reason its not being pulled up for me either, lets create a new Service request. she asks me for the serial number on the Xbox again and well i dont have it on me cause i had to go to this building to print it off, i dont carry my Xbox around with me... I come back home and call Xbox again, this time when i gave them the serial number they told me it was out of warranty now and if i would have printed it out a few days earlier, it could have been repaired. I spoke with several managers and none of them would still repair it.
I am now law expert but I dont think this is legal...Is there anyone out there that can tell me that it is or it isnt legal what they are doing? I am searching through Laws and regulations but like I said I'm no expert.
