    RAM Help

    Hi guys,

I bought a P5Q Pro last week along with another kit of Corsair XMS2 6400 (2*2gb).

All went well - got into windows...everything was fine (previous installation).

I powered down, unplugged and sorted a few SATA cables. On bootup it kept blue screening. I ran memtest and my new set of 2*2gb (already had another set) was faulty.

I ordered another set - which came today and my PC won't even boot with it.

What gives? It's the same 4gb kit that currently sits in my PC.

with 3 sticks in (old kit + 1 2gb stick from the new kit) it shows the Asus splash screen but seems to lock

Edit: I have removed all RAM and tested my new kit stick by stick - won't post either either stick.

    Re: RAM Help

Do you have any memory from another PC to test in it? It's not unheard of for people to receive faulty replacement RAM. I think there's a chance your motherboard is faulty but I'd be thinking faulty RAM or possible incorrect memory settings in BIOS.

Edit: Just re-read your post and from what I gather your PC runs fine with your existing RAM. If this is the case, double check timing/voltage settings on your BIOS.
