    Questions about computer heating up

So I've come to the conclusion that I need a new power supply, even after opening it up and cleaning the fans, the inner workings are still heating up. I am a little concerned about the workings of the floppy disk heating up though. I have 1 more fan that is installed behind and to the right of the floppy disk area, and everything around tha fan is cool. I am completely illiterate when it comes to computers, so I hope my description of what's going wrong doesn't result in too many face palms!

    Thank You

Re: Questions about computer heating up

So, if I've got this right, you have a PC, with a PSU (which needs replacing), plus a Disk drive, with a FAN near by which is keeping things pretty cool?

If I'm right....what is the question you have, and the problem?

    Is it,

    1. What PSU should I buy?
    2. Can Floppy Drives over heat? (Also known as "When Floppies Go Bad" with detective John Burnell
    3. My whole PC is overheating?

    Cheers!

Re: Questions about computer heating up

Clockedtohell is right - it's not clear here what the question is!

It should also be pointed out that a PSU will always heat up, it's just a question of whether it is overheating - i.e. causing instability/crashes/excessive fan noise etc. etc... Any or all of those happening to you? Never heard of a floppy drive overheating, that is odd... not sure how much effect it would have on the rest of the system though!

It's normal for components to get warm inside the PC, sometimes even hot.
