Two Beeps After Dual Boot Screen
I get two beeps after I have selected my operating system at the dual boot screen. I've have checked my motherboard manual and two beeps during POST mean CMOS setting error, is the POST all done by the time I chose the operating system?
I have taken the memory out at put it back stage by stage and the two beeps only happen when all four slots are taken up by RAM, but once I am logged on the system sees all the RAM no problem.
I currently have a GA-P35-DS3P board with 6 Gig of Corsair RAm running Vista Ultimate.
Any ideas about the beeps?
Re: Two Beeps After Dual Boot Screen
the POST is completed before the bootloader is loaded, but the issue you're describing certainly sounds like either a RAM or a motherboard issue. Memtest86+, I guess.
Re: Two Beeps After Dual Boot Screen
I ran the memory test at the boot screen and it reported no problems. Will Memtest86 do a better job?
Re: Two Beeps After Dual Boot Screen
yes, the POST memory test rarely finds *any* memory fault - you need a good few hours of Memtest86+
