    Bios more unstable than Windows

Probably better to watch the video, then read the explanation, it will make more sense:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IhILKmNsNE

This problem occurs EVERY time I restart the PC, only on the BIOS, when windows starts, its fine (although a few artifacts creep in there too, but closing the page or app gets rid of it). It has happened across 2 different Motherboards and 2 different graphics cards.

It only happens on one monitor of my two, and is dissociated with which port is used by which monitor.

It also happened on a webpage with the old 8800GTX:

Any ideas on how to fix?

Note: I already tried reinstalling flash.

Re: Bios more unstable than Windows

Your system looks pretty overclocked. Have you tested the stability using prime95, memtest, atitool etc?

Its obviously a hardware problem as it happens in the BIOS. One thing to check out is the PCIE frequency in your bios. It should be 100mhz so if it isn't set to that or is set at "auto" change it.

I noticed that the first time you booted up the pc turned off on the BIOS memory test, suggests that you haven't got your system entirely stable.

I reckon the first thing you should do is to write down your overclocking data (clock speed etc) then clear your CMOS and see if this problem continues.

If it does flash your BIOS to the latest version. Also you mentioned that you swapped gfx cards. Since the problem is still recurring that points towards the other components - mobo, cpu, ram.

Also when ur stress testing check ur temps! Its bad enough having an unstable system, but you don't want a fried one on top of that!

Re: Bios more unstable than Windows

If you want to try a quick fix up you CPU voltage a little, that's my number 1 guess since you haven't posted much info.

What kind of CPU cooling are you running? Is it adequate?

    etc etc.

Try what I've said first and if there are still problems please give some more info like vcore, vdimm etc etc.

Edit: also noticed you mentioned artifacts in windows. Thats indicative of a failed GPU overclock. How hard are you pushing it?
