    New rig - BIOS settings

Hi, I am in the process of putting together a new system and was wondering if you could help with exactly which BIOS need altering when I turn on. I am not interested in overclocking - all I want is a system which will be rock solid and devoid of the dreaded blue screens!

    Thanks

    My system is:

    AMD Athlon X2 2.7GHz 7750 Black Edition
    Asus M3A78-VM Motherboard (onboard graphics)
Corsair TwinX DDR2 6400 2 x 2GB 5-5-5-18 (I am running XP Pro and know it will only see 3GB)
    HDD - 1 x 320GB Samsung Spinpoint F1
    HDD2 - 2 x 500GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 RAID0

Re: New rig - BIOS settings

I'd go with the default really - chances are it has optimised itself for your cpu and ram running at standard freqs and voltages so leave well alone.

The only thing I play with is the boot sequence to ensure it boots properly.

Re: New rig - BIOS settings

Change the boot order to make your 320GB spinpoint the first drive (assuming thats the OS drive) and disable any raid types that you dont need, other than that it should be set fine, you sure you dont want to overclock?
