I have a Athlon 7750 BE and am using Windows XP. I have Cool n Quiet enabled in the BIOS but I have also been told this needs to be enabled in XP?
How do I do this and how can I check it is working?

You can check if its working by downloading CPUZ and seeing if the cpu speed is significantly lower than the stock speed.

Be sure to set the appropriate power saving option in control panel.
The appropriate power saving option is anything from 'minimal power management' onwards in terms of energy saving measures.
No it seems to be the same. I have done everything I can think of. Set CnQ in the BIOS and enabled ACPI. I have set the power options to maximum battery. But CPUZ is saying my processor is running at stock speed. I assume a Athlon 7750 (which runs at 2.7ghz) is 1.35 Ghz per core which is what CPUZ is reporting.
No, each core is running at 2.7ghz. Two cores running at 2.7ghz = the chip still running at 2.7ghz.
Try setting your power settings to minimal power management. And use the CPU speed display from AMD to get the CPU speed - it updates automatically and faster than CPUz.
