Main problem fixed - just a few other queries =]

Firstly hello everybody, im new round here but i look forward to chatting to you all.
I have a list of problems and i questions that i have so im going to break it down.

    1. Graphical Noise
    - 2. Games running very slow and freezing after the switch from xp to vista 64bit. - Fixed
    3. ram

    1. I doubt anyone will have a solution for this one but basically the only way i can describe this is when on my computer, randomly all over the screen it kinda jitters subterly. I've kinda narrowed it down to the graphics card as i tested it in another computer and it did the same. I've re-installed the drivers but to no avail it keeps doing it. It's kinda like interference in a sense that lines kinda make the screen kinda wobble. but ye anyway if anyone has an ideas how this could be fixed theres a cookie in it for you as i have no clue what to do.

If no one can find a solution i would like to buy a new graphics card.
I would like a powerful one which would be good for all round purpose and especially editing software and GAMING.

    My current setup is this.

    1 x Corsair 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL4
    1 x Asus P5B Socket Lga775 Core 2 Duo Intel P965 Fsb1066 8gb Ddr2 Sata 300 Gigabit Lan 8chn Audio
    1 x Inno3D 9600GT OC 512MB DDR3 Overclocked Edition Dual DVI TV Out PCI-E Graphics Card
    1 x LG W2252S 22"TFT Monitor 1680x1050 10000:1 300cd/m2 5ms Black VGA 3 Years Onsite
    1 x Extra Value Gold 600W 12cm Fan Silent PSU - PFC 20+4pin
    1 x Sony AD-7200S 20X DVD±RW/DL/RAM Internal SATA Bare Black Drive - OEM
    1 x Maxtor 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm *32MB Cache* - OEM
    1 x Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz (1066MHz) Socket 775 3MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
    1 x Belkin Serial ATA 2.0 7-pin Cable (Yellow) 18"

So yeah if need any more info on my setup just let me no what you need but yeah wouldnt mind spending around 100 quid on a new graphics card (preferably Ebuyer)

    2. I've recently got a good friend to reformat my computer and install vista 64 bit for me and everything seems to be running excellent although obviously still got the graphical noise, but yeah anyway since the switch from xp to vista when i try play valve games the speed i see them at is like 50% and there slow, laggy and im 99% its nothing to do with the servers but with my computer as even on the menus my comp is strugling to load up the next menu, so basically i have no clue what is causing this and if you guys need me to run some tests or something im all ears.

    3. Oh just quickly im thinking of selling my old ram that i have and buy 4 sticks of this stuff for my setup would it be ok with the components i have listed above, if not any good recomendation? :/

Thankyou alot if you read even any of that and i appreciate everybodys input.

Well I'll help you out with number 1.

Yes its a graphics card issue, so it will need to be replaced. As for what you go for, depends on your budget. Personally I would stick with NVIDIA as you already have the drivers installed, perhaps go for something like the Geforce 275?

    2) It MIGHT be your SOUND CARD.. as Vista gets sensitive about having the correct sound card drivers... are you using onboard sound?

3)Dont bother with more ram until you have the video card and "other/possibly sound" issue sorted

Re: Need alot of help =/

do you plug your speakers/heaphones into the MOTHERBOARDS sound plugs.. or to an additiona ADD IN card that goes in a PCI slot?

If yuo took the side off your case, and looked to see where the speakers plug in.... does it look like a big plastic and metal block soldered to the motherboard?

Or is it slotted in, horizontally, as an additinal card?

Re: Need alot of help =/

ok..so you need the Vista 64 drivers, for YOUR SPECIFIC motherboard from Asus website.

If you have a P5B-VM for example... you'd need
    http://support.asus.com/download/dow...s&model=P5B-VM

the latest (top version, newest date)

Re: Need alot of help =/

here... try to find out WHICH one you've got
    http://support.asus.com/repair/repai...Language=en-us

It might show when you boot up..hit the PAUSE/BREAK key (top right of your keyboard prolly).. or you can look on the motherboard itself with a torch
