    Ubuntu display position

After installing Ubuntu on another PC, I've noticed that there is a gap about 5-6 pixels wide along the left of the screen that is blank and a small amount of the screen is missing from the right. I had the same problem in Vista and I solved it by using ATI Catalyst to shift the display to the left. How can I do it in Ubuntu? It is an LCD VGA (no DVI connector) display BTW.
    Thanks

Use CCC like you did in Vista?

    Re: Ubuntu display position

Is there one? I've searched using Synaptic but I can't find it (I have restricted drives enabled in software sources). Isn't there a way to do it with the built in driver?

    Re: Ubuntu display position

I found two sources of CCC - the ubuntu package manager had it (for me), and it also installed automatically when I installed the ATI drivers direct from their website. I would always use ATI drivers over generic ones if possible.

    Re: Ubuntu display position

Thanks. The driver from ATI's website worked. I forgot to enable execution under permissions (d'oh).

Edit: OK I've installed it but the option to adjust display position is missing
