Camera battery gone?
Morning everyone,
I just bought a used digital camera and it's giving me some grief.
It works fine when plugged in but won't even turn on when off the charger. I took out the Li-ion battery after being on the charger for 12 hours and it wasn't at all warm, and there were no signs on the camera that it was charging (I think an LED is meant to light up).
Is the battery gone or could it be a fault with the camera itself? I don't want to throw good money after bad and get a new battery.
Many thanks in advance!
:)

Re: Camera battery gone?
It's always possible the charing circuit is dead, and so won't charge the bettery, but will work off mains.
Was this specified by the seller? Where did you get it from? perhaps a return and refund is in order.

Re: Camera battery gone?
Thanks for the quick response.
It was off amazon marketplace, in "very good" condition which means it should work I suppose.
Wasn't really any description beyond that other than the model name.
I'm thinking of pressing for a refund but I would rather just get a replacement battery if possible (just asked seller about it).

Re: Camera battery gone?
I would test the charger first to make sure its charging. If not, it's probably the battery. They often die a sudden death when they are put on and taken off charge frequently without charging fully (in my experience anyway).
Go to fotosense.co.uk and buy a third-party battery. They are very cheap. Usually come in two's for just a few pounds.
If it works off the mains then it's almost certainly not the camera unless it's a problem with the battery-bay/connectors.
Hope it helps :)

play.com also have a good range of after market batteries, if you do decide to get a replacement.
