ATI Radeon HD3470 graphics with 256Mb dedicated memory??

Hi everyone, i wanted to find out if anyone knew how good the ATI Radeon HD3470 graphics are for gaming. I saw somewhere that someone said they got 23 frames per second with it but i saw someone else say that its bad for gaming. Ive got a desk top with quad core, 3gb ram and nvidia geforce 8400gs gfx card and i did a bench with the trackmania nations forever game and it said i got 23 fps so does this mean that i will get similar graphics with the ATI card? The lap top im looking at is the toshiba A350-20s.

    Thanks

    Hayley

Hard to say how it's going to compare without knowing the resolution of your desktop computer's monitor! Based on the rest of the spec of that laptop it should perform more than adequately at the native res, but as always it'll vary between games and depend on what image quality settings you use.

It's not going to be amazingly fast, but it should do the job adequately How much are you looking at spending on the lappy? Looks like a decent machine...

Info on the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470, including some gaming performance benchmarks lower down.

How much are you going to be paying for that laptop? Looks like £600-650? I think you can do better graphics-wise with that kind of budget. E.g. A similar Acer Aspire 6530 for under £500 @ Play, which has a superior HD 3650 GPU.

Don't forget though that Acer have somewhat lower build quality than Toshiba (who are very well regarded build quality wise) and Acer support can be a nightmare, as I found out getting my aspire 7520 replaced.
