    270wfp monitor problem

I have noticed some intermittent screen blinking on my dell 27 inch monitor. (2707wfp)
sometimes, when it blinks to black screen, it can stay for up to 2-3 seconds.. i wonder whether anyone has similar problems with any monitors or is it just my ageing monitor.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

I have similar problem with my 2709W. I think it is more due to the graphics card than the monitor. It only happens with my desktop (ATI, via DVI), never with my laptop (Intel chipset, via HDMI) and Xbox 360 (DVI)

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

    Thanks.
But I don't think it is my vid card.
However, come to think of it, it could be my dvi port assimilar things happens when i plug in ps3 and xbox 360 via DVI port.

I saw some guy in the forum returning it for a new display. But i have read a lot of review that Dell will sometimes send you a monitor that is in worse condtion that my current one.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

Sounds more like a graphics card issue than the monitor. Have you tried the monitor on a different computer?
What graphics card are you using? Does it have dual DVI outputs or DVI and analog?

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

This happens on my 2408WFP, I am using it via a vga connection, as I have quite a complex 2 kvm/vga doubler setup, I put it down to a connection/sync problem going though 3 seperate boxes before the monitor. Its its annoying it only seems to happen once a day at most for me which is livable.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

Is the screen on showing black pixels or does it look *completely* black like it is switched off? If it is the second then it sounds like its lost the video source or is cycling the auto-source.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

In my case (not the original poster) the whole screen goes blank and no message appears. The PiP keeps on working, nothing about scanning inputs, auto adjustment or sync.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

I am using BFG 8800GTX OC.
I doubt it is the video card. As this happens to my PS3 and Xbox 360
    on this DVI port.

    My Analogue ports are ok.

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

Interesting this as I have the same monitor 2707wfp and the same graphics card 8800GTX and have exactly the same issue although I have two minitors connected and it only affects the 27".

Did you come up with any solutions?

    thanks

Still No idea how to fix it..
I do notice that open pages with full windows tends to occur more often...
I also run a dual screen as well...
But i don't think it is related.
I use BFG 8800GTC OC ? what about you?

    Re: 270wfp monitor problem

I am using a POV 8800GTX from overclockers.co.uk but it is running at standard settings. My second monitor is also a dell but does not exhibit any problems whatsoever!!

The monitor is still under warranty but I've read of a few people having the same problem all with 8800 cards so I'm begininning to believe it maybe a specific card/monitor problem. I have reported it to dell but had no response.
