Hard drive spins down then back up, then down again on standby/hibernate

Hi,

Not really a massive problem but I'd quite like to get if fixed if possible.

When I go into standby (S3 Mode) or hibernate the 3 hard drives in my computer spin down as soon as I have pressed the button, then immediately spin up one by one, and then finally after they have all spun back up the pc turns off.

Anybody got any idea how to stop this from happening? Not really a big deal but the spin down/up/down can't be great for the motors...

it wont strain things, there are no parts that will wear in the motors due to that

i doubt you can stop it though

it's all a bit of a wives tale I think. 75 second spindown timers on my friend's fileserver have been in operation and with 18 month old hard disks it's had no effect - the power cycle count is well into the red in SMART, but no issues to report.
