    Media Sharing

I was wondering the wonderful Hexus users might be able to suggest how I could go about sharing media from my PC to the television I have downstairs. The tv downstairs does not have an ethernet port nor is it connected to a computer. Basically, I keep all of my music, films etc on the PC upstairs and I want to be able to stream them to the tv downstairs. What would be the easiest option that won't break the bank?

I know I can pick up and original Xbox and use that as a media centre but is there anything else??

    Re: Media Sharing

I've got an ATI graphics card with HDMI output, so I just have a long HDMI cable connected to my TV. If you want to know more about this setup just let me know.

If you want to control what is on the paylist from downstairs you would need a device such as XBOX 360. There are some network media players on the market, but their price is in the range of XBOX 360 anyway.

    Re: Media Sharing

I just built a computer on the cheap. Cost me roughly £100. Means i have the internet, music, HD films, games and apps on the 42" 1080p. It's connected to the network, so it takes all the media from my computer (which is nearly always on).

Just scout about on forums for people selling old parts.

All you need is a DualCore CPU over 2.4GHz and and graphics card that can output 1080p, and your set.
