4850 install - POST errors
Last night was a late one - finished benchmarking my SLI setup to compare to my new XFX 4850 512MB XXX and set about uninstalling the Nvidia drivers, removing the cards and screwing in the new ATI card.
Boot gave one long beep & three short. ASUS say - One long three Short: No VGA card detected.
Now I'm certain the card was seated correctly and I'd plugged the 6 pin PCI-E power lead in and the monitor was connected!
ASUS recommend re-installing the card, trying a different slot, cleaning the slot and connector and finally no 4: Please replace your VGA card. I'd rather not really thanks!
Anyone have a similar issue?
Mobo is an ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe. I had wondered if the CMOS needed clearing as I've gone from two Nvidia 8800 GTS 320MB to a single 512MB ATI card? Other than that it looks a bit bleak really.
Re: 4850 install - POST errors
Yes I'd try resetting CMOS, using the other PCI-E power connector, using the other PCI-E slot. Other than that, see if you can test the card in another computer because if they fail the card is probably duff.
Re: 4850 install - POST errors
ASUS was right in what they advised. One Long and Three Short Beeps. Video (EGA) Display Circuitry. I would take a look at this http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000607.htm also as advised reset CMOS.

Re: 4850 install - POST errors
I've got the new graphics card working but it's only detected in the second PCI-E slot (x16 luckily). At least the card isn't the problem!
I'll try clearig the CMOS when I've saved my BIOS profile.
Thanks for the suggestions :)

Have you tried getting the latest motherboard bios, it may resolve the problem.
