    Connectors and Resolutions

Hi all, just got myself a BENQ G2410HD screen and I just had a couple of questions. I knew before I bought it that it only came with a VGA cable. Would I be correct in assuming that you can't display 1920 x 1080 via VGA?

Next, what DVI cable do I need to fit into a socket like this one:
    http://images.digitalmedianet.com/20...02-dvid-01.jpg

All the DVI cables I have at the moment have 4 pins around the single horizontal pin, which means they wont fit... I realise this is probably an uber noob question but any help is appreciated!!

    Re: Connectors and Resolutions

Well the highest resolution I can get through the VGA is 1600 x 1200. My graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 8800GT OC 2 BFG which is capable of 1920 x 1080 resolution, as is the screen. So provided I can get a dvi dual to dvi cable hopefully I can achieve the max resolution I'm looking for?

    Re: Connectors and Resolutions

Maybe your monitor only supports a certain resolution over VGA, even though VGA may support a higher one - check the manual. The 1080p Regza downstairs only allows 1360*768 over VGA, opposed to (obviously?) 1920*1080 over DVI/HDMI.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Connectors and Resolutions

Well most of the reviews say to get a DVI cable straight away so I think that must be right...

So would this be a suitable cable:
