i have just changed coolers from artic 7 freezer to a zalman cnps (which is much quieter)
but i have a lil prob the core temps are 31 on both cores and 80cCPU
in speedfan
why is there such a difference ???

It could be a dud sensor, what happens if you change back to the other fan?
If the cores are running at 31 it should be fine, but you might as well narrow down the cause.
I guess the first thing is did you run fan speed before, and did it produce correct numbers? Where are you reading the numbers for the CPU cores? How did you read the temperature in the BIOS/Manufacturers program or also in fan speed? What exactly is the CPU temperature being read by a sensor provided by your new fan or a system sensor you have not changed?
the temps in a bios seem the same , ie not high ( tops of 40-45)
this morning the temps are down to 39c ( this is clocked to 3.2ghz e6600)
the zalman is purring away nice and quite, i left newsleecher on for a few hours as u do, and when i came and had a look the cpu temps ( not individual core temps they were 30's) were upto 80c i think it must be a dud sensor but not sure
i have a fannis fanmate set to max but it is controlled by the bios fan control which i have set to optimum
A Zalman is quieter than a freezer 7... Short answer to that is no it isn't. I'm guessing you had the freezer at max speed, and the zalman at reduced speed. Zalmans at full speed are LOUD! Depending on which Zalman you got, the Arctic was probably a better cooler as well... :S
There is nothing wrong with those mine are as below, and I have a Freezer Pro and even on full load it come to 38 max. Good all round cooler and would I would recommend.
CPU 35
NB 43
SB 47
POWER 37
JONESSIENever use an iPod Touch to type because you need fingers like chopsticks.
I had a similar problem. I turn down the fans on my pc and temps go from 30 to 80 in less than a second. It's utter nonsense, you can ignore that

trust me m8ty its quieter than the artic ( ive used artic in my last 10 builds , but may spend a lil bit more on the zalmans
as for temps they are sweet at a steady 35- 45
I've used both and I spend the vast majority of my time working with PCs on making them quieter. Your Zalman is presumably configured to use a lower fan speed. At full tilt I would much rather hear a Freezer 7 than a Zalman.
