Replacement hec power supply
My PC power supply, a HEC 550TD PTE model, has failed me today. My Mesh PC is an Elite Extreme SLI unit, which is just over 2.5 years old. Does this PSU have a reasonable guarantee attached to it? Otherwise, where can I acquire a replacement unit? Note I have an Advantage warranty, set up in Dec '06, 2 years on site + 1 year BTB-T&C. Any useful advice welcome.
Re: Replacement hec power supply
What power is the psu and what connectors on it do you need?
Re: Replacement hec power supply
A replacement PSU would cost about £60 (for a good one) From the part number I would guess it is 550Watts, so anything of comparable power from the likes to Corsair or FSP would be suiytable. Don't be tempted to skimp on the PSU's, generally you really do get what you pay for.
For details of any warranty cover, you should contact Mesh.

You might still be under warranty, try posting on their forums (http://www.meshcomputersownersclub.com/forum/) if you cant through to them over the phone.
Judging by your spec, you will need a good quality 500watt psu which should only cost about £50 or so.

If you will not manage to get the free replacement, try something from FSP .i.e.700W is regularly discounted ('Today only' at Scan) and you can have it for approx.£40 (I mean this one )
