    Best Blank DVD's to Buy?

    Hello all,
    (1) I am looking for a pack of blank DVD-R's or DVD+R's that I can burn video content on to, as I have filmed a tonne of videos that are clogging up my hard drive. I don't care about the size of the pack, as long as they have a very good price per disk (shouldn't be over a hundred DVD's though).
The one I am considering now is:
    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/531907...k/Product.html
What do you think? Does anyone know of a better package?
    (2) I am also looking for a small pack of about 25/50 Lightscribe DVD-R or DVD+R just so I can test out my lightscribe DVD drive. Any suggestions? Which one's do you guys get?
    Thank you for your help
    Varmint

(Note I would rather not get cases with it)

I'm not sure if there's any massive differences between makes.. I have loads of Phillips ones on my shelf from when we had a DVD-Recorder, they seem no different from any others i've used.

The ones you've picked seem fine, can't argue with 12p DVDs. lol

For private usage, I would recommend you to go for Verbatim (I have only good experience with them and durability is proven ) .

I've never had a problem with Kodak or Verbatim's disc's, even Tesco's own brand jobs aren't too bad provided you don't use a high write speed I only had two coasters out of my last spindle.

    Another vote here for Verbatim.

I remember picking up 600 Verbatim CDs for £40 quid back in the day, still got about 400 in my dad's loft.

So far I've tried quite a few DVD brands, but only Verbatims have never failed me. Love them sooo much.

Taiyo Yuden. Verbs are getting increasingly hit and miss due to some made in India.

    Re: Best DVD's to Buy?

It is not the DVDs themselves but what dyes they use and where they are made. DVDs with genuine Taiyo Yuden dyes are supposed to among the best for example. I would also consider DVDs pressed in Japan followed by Taiwan over the Indian ones which have had spotty QC at times.

The makes I would look to go with are TDK,Verbatim and Maxell. IMHO TDK have the best QC generally and their ScratchProof DVDs are very durable from experience.

Also make sure that every few years you do make backups of your old DVDs too and burn them at low speed just in case.
