Software RAID 0 on 4x2Gb USB flash sticks in windows?
I'm just looking for some freeware software that will allow me to build an array of 4 usb sticks in windows.
It's more of a "I'll see if I can do it" so no worries if It can't be done.
I know it can't be done in Windows Disk Management as you can't convert removable disks to dynamic disks so I'll need something else.
All the google searches I've performed bring up raid recovery services or raid 1 options. I'm wanting to stripe!
Any help would be appreciated

I've not seen anything for windows - although it can be done (and I have done it) using mdadm under a linux operating system

Yeah, I've read about that somewhere. That'll just work for linux though, won't it?

Yes :) So load up a Linux distro and get playing!

Wondering what is the point? Unless you have a motherboard with dual USB controller (X38/X48/X58/?) You'll be capped at somewhere around 34MB/s with RAID0. Might as well just get 1 single fast stick and save all the trouble.

Probably no practical use for it - except for the reason he implies - experimentation! :)

Well, you can sort of do it with VMWare and have 4 VM Disks on the 4 sticks, then do RAID0 inside the VM.

I love this kinda thing... random experimentation for the sake of it :)

Hmm, yeah. Seems like a faff...as is everyway of doing it.
I was just really wanting to use it under Windows 7.
I've half given up and converted them all to use the full 2gb each for ready boost. Will this help with 3gb ram already? Will it matter I've got 4 usb sticks with readyboost on them? I don't know.
